(Please note: we will not be using US Airways anymore, as of October 1st 2005, US Airways has merged with America West and is no longer accepting live pets ... sorry, we had great service while it lasted!! We will however still use Continental as our "Airlines of choice" unless another carrier is requested or needed.)

If local pickup is not foreseeable.. when the weather permits, we will offer SAFE shipping within the United States and Canada via a few major airlines, or we can setup ground transportation. (Rates are available for customers outside of the USA and Canada). Puppies can be shipped at 8 weeks of age or older, no exceptions!! Please note, that smaller Chihuahua puppies will have to stay a tad bit longer before shipping to ensure their safety while in flight/travel.

IMPORTANT ... We try to make the transition from our home to yours as easy as possible on everyone involved!! PRIOR to traveling your baby will have access to play in, on, and around the crate he/she will be shipped in. This gives your baby time to get accustomed with his/her "traveling home" prior to travel, and therefore they are more relaxed while in travel ... this is verses puppies who get put in a cold-dark kennel they have never seen before, the day of shipping, and then shipped to people they don't know. We go one step further and also have the mother and other littermates lay & play in the kennel, and also lay on and play with their blanket/towel that will also be sent along with your puppy for comfort (so he/she will have the smell of others along for the ride). We also ASK that you go to your local department store of choice, and purchase a cheap t-shirt (or one laying around the house that you wouldn't mind giving up), wear it on a normal day, and sent it to us unwashed in a zip-lock baggie. This may sound weird, but works.. the reason behind doing this is that while you wear the t-shirt, your skin cells rub off on the shirt. When you send it to us, we will let your baby lay on it, play with it, and become accustomed to YOUR scent way before you even receive your baby. Remember that dogs learn who is who by scent!!!! This way when your puppy arrives at your airport and you pick him/her up, they will already know you by your scent, and therefore will be more relaxed and ready to meet their new home in comfort. You will get to keep the crate and blanket/towel.. just try not to wash them, if you don't have to, for the first few days.. as this will be a comfort zone for your puppy!! Please keep in mind that it takes a new puppy a few days to a few weeks to FULLY acclimate to their new home, owners, and surroundings but we have found that doing this helps decrease that time greatly. We ship out of Tampa International Airport in Tampa Florida. (Airport code is TPA or TIA). Unless prior arrangements are made for using another carrier, we will ship using "US Airways" or "Continental Airlines" as they have climate controlled cargo with only a 5 degree difference in temperature than the main cabin. (We have used Air Canada too for our Canadian customers.) We have never had a complaint or incident while using them. Shipping can be setup anytime after the vet exam and documentation is done, and up to ten days following before having to redo the paperwork. We try to only book direct flights, if at all possible, and also early morning/late evening flights to avoid high temperatures during the day. We ship counter to counter service which means our puppies are brought inside the airport and signed in at the ticket counter. Our puppies are then shuttled to the plane just prior to takeoff, and they are also the first to come off during layovers or final landings. After landing they are brought back indoors, checked in, and stay at the customer service/baggage claim office until identified by the purchaser. Puppies are never left unattended during their travel!

Being that Florida is warm most of the year, and because we ship climate controlled with indoor drop off and pickup, we can safely ship year round with Continental!! Air shipping within the USA and Canada runs $250 for Chihuahua puppies, and $300 for older/adult Chihuahuas, or Great Dane puppies (8-10 weeks). Individual rates are available for older Dane puppies, as it will vary with age/weight. The difference in price is because of the crate size & total weight of the puppy and crate. Ground transportation is also available, and costs vary depending on the company used. Please note, that travel via ground will take longer to receive your pup, as we have to go by their schedules (routes setup to come south for pickup, and back north to drop off). Sometimes we also have friends/family who will hand deliver a puppy for us, for a fee, but it's only available within Florida and neighboring states, and is not available all the time. Local buyers may inquire for further details. Rates also are available for international flights.
